Students are authors!










Students in all grade levels are working on books - classroom books for our students in grades K - 3 and individual books for the students in 4th and 5th grades. Pictured are students in Mrs. Odess' kindergarten class. The students are working on a class book entitled "In Kindergarten I can . . ." The students are excited about becoming authors!


ELAKW1 - The student begins to understand the principles of writing.

Students in Ms. Jayroe's class are working on informational research and writing. The students are using print and nonprint materials to gather information on careers. The students selected a career, based on personal interest, to study. In the media center, the 3rd graders used books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and internet sites to collect detailed information on their topic. The information will be summarized in an informational piece of writing.

Woodland students and staff continue to read! Four thousand seven hundred and sixty three (4,763) items were checked out from the Woodland Elementary School Media Center this month! Readers are fabulous!
