The preview for the Scholastic Book Fair began this morning. Mrs. Bernstein’s fourth grade class was the first to come and see what items were available this year. The selection is great! We are looking forward to a great fair!

Creating an ebook with 2nd graders
Second grade students in Ms. Danielle Collins’ social studies class recently studied native Georgians. As part of a culminating activity, the students created dioramas depicting life of the native Georgians, the Creek and Cherokee Indians. The students displayed their projects in the media center. Ms. Collins and Mrs. Deana King, the Media and Educational Technology Instructor, worked collaboratively to create a classroom electronic book using iPads. Each student took a picture of his diorama with the camera on the iPad. The picture was then inserted on a page in the book. The students used the recording device on the iPad to add a sentence describing what was occurring in their diorama. The individual pages were made into an electronic classroom book for sharing.
